Figueroa's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[7]

  • Creating jobs: The failed policies of corporate tax cuts, stagnant wages, and cuts to job creating industries have left many families in Albuquerque behind. Everyone who is willing to work hard deserves the opportunity to access a good job with a fair wage here in New Mexico.
  • Education: When we support education every step of the way, kids in Albuquerque will have better opportunities to succeed.
  • Public safety: She knows that criminalizing our youth is the wrong approach. The best way to build safer communities is to deal with the source.
  • Healthcare: Everyone should be guaranteed access to quality affordable health care. Those who have coverage should be able to access quality care when they need it.
  • Transparency and ethics: Those who violate the public trust should be held accountable for their actions.[8]

Scorecards

See also:State legislative scorecards andState legislative scorecards in New Mexico

Ascorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
