Montana Methods of Taxation, R-68 (1971)
TheMontana Methods of Taxation Referendum, also known asR-68, was on theNovember 2, 1971 ballot inMontana as alegislatively referred state statute, where it wasdefeated. The measure would have offered a choice in taxation methods. A "yes" vote would have reduced the 40% income tax to 10% and enacted a 2% sales tax. A "no" vote kept the 40% income tax and did not add the sales tax.[1][2]
