Biography
Mike Snider was born inBremerton, Washington. His career experience includes working as a small business owner, attorney, UPS employee, hay bale stacker, concrete worker, respiratory therapy technician, and brewery owner. He has been affiliated with National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Kansas Trial Lawyers Association, and Wichita Bar Association.[1]

As a respiratory therapy technician In Topeka hospitals, during his college years, Mike cared for sick and injured. patients. At the Washburn University School of Law, he earned a law degree with Dean's Honors in 1985. For the last 31 years Mike has been managing partner of the Wichita law firm, Snider & Seiwert, LLC,, a law practice representing everyday Kansans with disabilities and work-related injuries. Mike has testified before Kansas legislative committees, lobbied the Kansas legislature on behalf of Kansas workers., written legal articles, and made presentations on legal ethics, workers compensation and social security disability law in educational seminars.
Mike seeks election to the Kansas House of Representatives, 87th District, to continue his advocacy for all working Kansans, seeking passage of laws protecting the constitutional rights of Kansans and promoting a better future for our children and our grandchildren.- Addressing the failure of the Kansas legislature to access Kansas paid federal tax dollars for Medicaid expansion. Parents of modest means and their children need health insurance coverage. Our federal tax dollars leave Kansas and go to support Medicaid health care coverage insurance in our neighboring states of Oklahoma, Missouri, Nebraska and Colorado. Kansas legislators should be putting the health of Kansans first. Healthy Kansas parents can earn, and healthy Kansas children can learn. Using the federal tax dollars we have already paid in federal taxes for Medicaid expansion is a commonsense proposition.
- Fully funding Kansas public schools is mandated by our Kansas Constitution. All Kansas children have the right to a properly funded and adequate public education.
- Our Kansas Supreme Court has ruled that personal bodily autonomy is a right protected by our state constitution. In the referendum vote of August 2022, Kansas citizens said no to changing our state constitution to allow the Kansas legislature to dictate changes in reproductive health care freedom. Kansas legislators need to let patients and their doctors make decisions about their reproductive health care. As a lawyer I have sworn an oath to uphold the Kansas Constitution, and I continue to do so.
