TheMaryland Civil Jury Amount Amendment, also known asQuestion 1, was on theNovember 3, 1998 ballot inMaryland as alegislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it wasapproved. The measure provided that the right to a jury trial in civil proceedings applies only when the amount in controversy exceeds $10,000.[1]
