Martin Reidinger
Martin Karl Reidinger is thechief judge on theUnited States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. He became chief judge in 2020. He joined the court in 2007 after being nominated by PresidentGeorge W. Bush.[1]
Early life and education
A native of Connecticut, Reidinger graduated from the University of North Carolina with his bachelor's degree in 1981 and with his juris doctorate degree in 1984.[1]
Professional career
Reidinger started his entire pre-judicial legal career as a private practice attorney licensed in the State ofNorth Carolina from 1984 to 2007.[1]
Judicial career
Western District of North Carolina
On the recommendation of North Carolina U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole, Reidinger was nominated by PresidentGeorge W. Bush on January 9, 2007 to a seat vacated byGraham Mullen as Mullen assumedsenior status. Reidinger was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on September 10, 2007 on a Senate vote and received commission onSeptember 12, 2007.[1]
