Louie Willard Strum (1890-1954) was afederal judge on theUnited States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and theUnited States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.[1]

Fifth Circuit

Strum was nominated to the Fifth Circuit by PresidentHarry Truman on September 14, 1950 to replaceCurtis Waller. He was confirmed by the Senate on September 23rd, and received commission on theSeptember 26th. He served on this court until his death onJuly 26, 1954.[1]

Southern District of Florida

Strum was nominated to the Southern District of Florida by PresidentHerbert Hoover on February 21, 1931 to a seat created by 46 Stat. 820. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 28th, and received commission onMarch 2nd. From 1948 to 1950, he was thechief judge. He served on this court untilOctober 3, 1950, when he was appointed to the Fifth Circuit.[1]
