My name is Logan Ginavan. I am a born and raised Kansan and proud of it. I went through school right here in Lawrence, Kansas and I am nearly finished with my bachelors degree in Political Science from The University of Kansas.
  • Abortion access is a fundamental right.
  • Housing is a fundamental right.
  • A safe and sensible education is a fundamental right.
The area of public policy I am most passionate about is education. I believe that no child should have to go to school wondering if they may not make it to the dinner table that night.
The TV show "The West Wing" is my favorite of all time and I think it helps me form some of my opinions and beliefs on certain policies.
The most important principles for an elected official are honesty and intelligence.
The core responsibility of someone in this position is to accurately represent the people in the district from which they were elected.
The goal of every politician should be to leave the world better than it was when they started. The legacy I want to leave is a world where every child can go to school without fear and a world where every new high school graduate can pursue a college education without having to face decades of student loans.
The first historical event that I specifically remember was the night that Donald Trump won in 2016. I was 14 at the time.
No. I think that the various facets of government are at their best when all voices have the chance to speak. If we simply elected the candidate with the most experience, the capitol would filled with 70-year-old politicians still stuck in the last century.
What do you call an angry carrot?

A steamed vegetable.
The first bill I would introduce would be a constitutional amendment that would allow for citizen-initiated legislation. More than half of the states in the US allow for some form of citizen-initiated legislation. These states have learned that the most important voice to be heard is the voice of the people.
Elected officials in government should be directly accountable to the people that elected them. If an elected official is not representing the people the way they should be, that person should not be allowed to hold that position.
