Leslie Darr
Leslie Rogers Darr (1886-1967) was afederal judge on theUnited States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee and theUnited States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.
He was nominated by PresidentFranklin D. Roosevelt on May 24, 1939 to a seat created by 52 Stat. 584. He was confirmed by the Senate on May 31st, and received commission onJune 2nd. He served on theMiddle District Court untilNovember 27, 1940. From 1949 to 1961, he was thechief judge of theEastern District Court. OnMarch 15, 1961, he assumedsenior status and continued to serve in this capacity until his death onMay 29, 1967.[1] Darr was succeeded in this position byFrank Wiley Wilson.
