Lawrence Zatkoff was anArticle III federal judge for theUnited States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He joined the court in 1986 after being nominated by PresidentRonald Reagan.[1] Zatkoff passed away on January 26, 2015.[2]

Education

A native ofDetroit, Zatkoff is a graduate of Detroit Mercy with bachelor's andJ.D. degrees in 1962 and 1966.

Zatkoff was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on January 21, 1986, to a seat vacated byRalph Guy, Jr. Zatkoff was confirmed by the U.S.Senate on March 3, 1986, and received commission onMarch 4, 1986. Zatkoff served as chief judge of the court from 1999 to 2004, before assumingsenior status onJune 16, 2004. He served on senior status until he passed away on January 26, 2015.[1][2] Zatkoff was succeeded in this position bySean Cox.
