John Whitaker Lord
John Whitaker Lord, Jr. (1901-1972) was afederal judge for theUnited States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Lord was nominated by PresidentDwight Eisenhower on March 29, 1954, to a seat vacated byJames McGranery; he was confirmed by the Senate on May 18, 1954, and received his commission onMay 20, 1954. From 1969-1971, he served as thechief judge. He assumedsenior status onDecember 19, 1971. He served the Eastern District of Pennsylvania until his death onMay 16, 1972.
