John R. Parker is afederal magistrate judge for theUnited States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. He has served in this position since 2019.[1]

Education

Judge Parker earned a B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Dallas. He received aJ.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law.[1]

Career

Judge Parker started his legal career as an attorney for Crenshaw, Dupree & Milliam, L.L.P. He later joined the U.S Attorney's office in Lubbock, Texas.[1] Parker "served ten years as the Chief of the Civil Division during which time he chaired the Civil Chiefs’ Working Group, a subcommittee of the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee, which provided advice and guidance in the development and coordination of legal policies and procedures that affected all civil litigation involving the United States nationwide."[1] Parker eventually served as acting and interim United States Attorney in the Northern District of Texas for three years, before taking the position of Deputy General Counsel for the Executive Office for the United States Attorney's Office.[1]
