John Hastings
John Simpson Hastings (1898-1977) was afederal judge for theUnited States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.[1]
Hastings was nominated by PresidentDwight Eisenhower on March 14, 1957, to a seat vacated byJames Earl Major; he was confirmed by the Senate on August 22, 1957, and received his commission onAugust 26th. He served aschief judge from 1959-1968. He assumedsenior status onFebruary 1, 1969, and served in that capacity until his death onFebruary 7, 1977.[1]
