John H. Wills
John Wills (Republican Party) is a member of theIowa House of Representatives, representingDistrict 10. He assumed office on January 1, 2023. His current term ends on January 1, 2027.
Wills (Republican Party) ran for re-election to theIowa House of Representatives to representDistrict 10. He won in the general election onNovember 5, 2024.
Wills began serving asspeaker pro tempore in 2020.[1]
Biography
John Wills was born inSibley, Iowa.[2] Wills graduated from Sibley High School in 1984.[3] He served in the U.S. Army from 1983 to 2015. Wills earned an associate degree in environmental studies from Iowa Lakes Community College in 1987, a bachelor's degree in biology from Northwestern College in 1989, a master's degree in political science and government from American Military University in 2007, and a master's degree in environmental policy and management from American Military University.[2][3] His career experience includes working as a Clean Water Alliance coordinator with the Dickinson Soil and Water Conservation District.[3] Wills has been affiliated with the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).[2]

John and his wife Cami have been married since 2010. Cami is an accountant for a home remodeling business in Spirit Lake. They have three kids, Seth, Wesley, who live in Omaha, and Mariah who lives in Spencer. In addition to their human kids, they have two dogs, Ashland and Liberty, who enjoy hunting with John.
John retired from the military as a First Sergeant after 25 years of service. He spent several tours of duty deployed in Iraq, Egypt, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Qatar, and Germany as an infantryman and cavalry scout.
- I am running to protect our future.
- Instead of our kids moving away from Iowa, I want them to move to Iowa.
- Iowa's future is bright and i want to keep it that way.
