John Beck
Axel John Beck (1894-1981) was afederal judge on theUnited States District Court for the District of South Dakota.
Beck was nominated by PresidentDwight Eisenhower on January 31, 1958, to a new seat created by 71 Stat. 631; he was confirmed by the Senate on February 28, 1958, and received his commission onMarch 4, 1958. He served aschief judge from 1965-1966. He assumedsenior status onOctober 27, 1969, and served in that capacity until his death onSeptember 2, 1981.[1] Beck was succeeded in this position byAndrew Bogue.
