Joel Gerber was anArticle Ifederal judge for the for theUnited States Tax Court. Gerber was appointed by PresidentRonald Reagan (R) to his first 15-year term and by PresidentBill Clinton (D) to his second 15-year term. He tooksenior status on June 1, 2006.[1][2] Gerber officially retired from judicial service on July 16, 2020.[3]

Education

Gerber earned his B.S. from Roosevelt University in 1962 and hisJ.D. from DePaul University in 1965. He also obtained an LL.M. from Boston University Law School in 1968.[2]

Gerber was nominated to theUnited States Tax Court by PresidentRonald Reagan (R) on June 18, 1984, to a term that expired on June 17, 1999. He was reappointed on December 15, 2000, byBill Clinton (D) and tooksenior status on June 1, 2006.[2] Gerber officially retired from judicial service on July 16, 2020.[3]
