Biography
Joe Sweeney lives in Salem, New Hampshire. Sweeney graduated from Salem High School in 2012. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in public policy from the University of New Hampshire in 2016 and 2018, respectively.[1][2][3][4] Sweeney has served as the vice chair of the Salem, New Hampshire Charter Commission and has been affiliated with the Salem Rotary Club and the Salem Exchange Club.[4]

Elections for theNew Hampshire House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election was held onNovember 4, 2014. Thesignature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 13, 2014. In the Rockingham 8 District election, five candidates were unopposed in the Democratic primary, while 19 candidates faced off in the Republican primary.[5] The general election was contested by seven Democrats and nine Republicans. The Democrats wereLawson Brouse,Stephanie Micklon,Harley G. Featherston,Camron Iannalfo,Dennis Iannalfo,Jane Lang, andBeth Roth. The Republicans participants wereGary Azarian,Fred Doucette,John J. Manning, Jr.,Arthur E. Barnes III, and incumbentsRonald Belanger,Anne Priestley,Joe Sweeney,Robert Elliott, andJohn Sytek. All nine Republicans were victorious over the Democrats in the general election.[6]
