Anderson (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to theMississippi House of Representatives to representDistrict 110. He won in the general election onNovember 7, 2023.

He was first elected to the chamber in aspecial election on November 5, 2013.^[1]

Anderson was a Democratic candidate for Mississippi's 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House. Anderson lost the general election on November 6, 2018, after advancing from the primary on June 5, 2018.

Biography

Growing up inMississippi, Anderson graduated from Moss Point High School. He went on to earn his associate degree in criminal justice from Pearl River Community College.^[2]

At age 16, Anderson founded the nonprofit organization Purple Knights of America, an organization dedicated to mentoring males ages 11 through 18. He now serves as the organization's president/CEO.^[2]

When Anderson won his seat in the Mississippi House of Representatives in November 2013 at age 21, he became the youngest African American elected to a legislature in the United States history.^[2]
