Howard Turrentine
Howard Boyd Turrentine was afederal judge on theUnited States District Court for the Southern District of California. He was nominated by PresidentNixon in 1970. Turrentine assumedsenior status on January 22, 1984. He passed away on August 20, 2010.

Southern District of California
Turrentine was nominated to theUnited States District Court for the Southern District of California byRichard Nixon on February 19, 1970, to a seat vacated byFred Kunzel. He was confirmed by the Senate on April 23, 1970, and received his commission onApril 24, 1970. Turrentine served aschief judge of the court from 1982-1984. He assumedsenior status onJanuary 22, 1984.[1] Turrentine was succeeded in this position byRudi Brewster.
