Herschel Walker
Herschel Walker is an officeholder of the U.S. Ambassador to the Bahamas. He assumed office on October 7, 2025.
Walker (Republican Party) ran for election to theU.S. Senate to represent Georgia. He lost in the general runoff election onDecember 6, 2022.
Donald Trump (R) announced on December 17, 2024, that he would nominate Walker to serve as U.S. ambassador to the Bahamas.[1]
Biography
Walker is a Hall of Fame professional football player who attended the University of Georgia. He also represented the U.S. in the 1992 Olympics and has owned two food-supply businesses. Former President Donald Trump (R) appointed Walker as chairman of the Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition in 2018.[2][3]
