Herman Johnson
Herman "Rusty" Johnson is afederal magistrate judge for theUnited States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. Johnson joined the court on June 1, 2017.[1]
Education
Johnson obtained a B.A. in economics from Duke University in 1991 and aJ.D. and master of international affairs from Columbia University in 1999. During his legal studies, Johnson was on the staff of theColumbia Human Rights Law Review.[1]

Johnson was a law clerk to JudgeMartha Craig Daughtrey of theUnited States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit and to JudgeMyron Thompson of theUnited States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama. Johnson was a volunteer with the Peace Corps for two years.[1]
