Herbert Christenberry
Herbert William Christenberry (1897-1975) was afederal judge on theUnited States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
Christenberry was nominated by PresidentHarry Truman on July 11, 1947, to a seat vacated by Adrian J. Caillouet; he was confirmed by the Senate on December 18, 1947, and received commission onDecember 20, 1947. From 1949 to 1967, he served as thechief judge. He served the Eastern District of Louisiana until his death onOctober 5, 1975.[1] Christenberry was succeeded in this position byCharles Schwartz.
