Herbert Stephenson Boreman (1897-1982) was afederal judge on theUnited States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit and theUnited States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.[1] Boreman passed away onMarch 26, 1982.[1]

Fourth Circuit

Boreman was nominated to the Fourth Circuit by PresidentDwight Eisenhower on January 20, 1959, to a seat vacated byJohn Johnston Parker; he was confirmed by the Senate on June 16, 1959, and received his commission onJune 17th. He assumedsenior status onJune 15, 1971, and served the Fourth Circuit in that capacity until his death onMarch 26, 1982.[1]

Northern District of West Virginia

Boreman was nominated to the Northern District of West Virginia by PresidentDwight Eisenhower on June 22, 1954, to a seat vacated byWilliam Eli Baker; he was confirmed by the Senate on July 21, 1954, and received his commission onJuly 22nd. He served the this court until hisJune 22, 1959, elevation to the Fourth Circuit.[1] Boreman was succeeded in this position byCharles Paul.
