Harold Medina
Harold Raymond Medina (1888-1990) was afederal judge on theUnited States District Court for the Southern District of New York and theUnited States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit. He joined theSecond Circuit in 1951 after an appointment fromHarry Truman. Truman also appointed Medina to theSouthern District of New York in 1947. At the time of appointment, he was a private practice attorney in New York City. He assumedsenior status onMarch 1, 1958, and continued serving in this capacity until retiring onFebruary 22, 1980. He passed away on March 14, 1990.[1]

Second Circuit
Medina was nominated to the Second Circuit by PresidentHarry Truman on June 11, 1951, to a seat vacated byLearned Hand; he was confirmed by the Senate on June 21, 1951, and received commissionJune 23rd. He assumedsenior status onMarch 1, 1958, and continued serving in this capacity until retiring onFebruary 22, 1980.[1] He was succeeded to the post byHenry Friendly.
Southern District of New York
Medina was nominated to the Southern District of New York by PresidentHarry Truman on May 15, 1947, to a seat vacated bySamuel Mandelbaum; he was confirmed by the Senate on June 18, 1947, and received commissionJune 20th. He served until his advancement to the Second Circuit onJune 23, 1951.[1] Medina was succeeded in this position byThomas Murphy.
