Harold Hitz Burton was an Associate Justice on theSupreme Court of the United States. He was nominated to the court by PresidentHarry Truman and served from 1945 to 1964. His last day of service wasOctober 28, 1964, due to death.[1]

Burton was one of four justices nominated to the Supreme Court by President Truman. He served duringThe Stone Court,The Vinson Court andThe Warren Court.[2]

Burton received his A.B. from Bowdoin College in 1909 and a LL.D. from Harvard Law School in 1912.[1]
