George Caldwell Taylor (1885-1952) was afederal judge on theUnited States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.

He was nominated by PresidentCalvin Coolidge on May 24, 1928 to replaceXenophon Hicks. He was confirmed by the Senate onMay 26, 1928 and received commission that same day. From 1948 to 1949, he was thechief judge. He assumedsenior status onNovember 24, 1949 and continued to serve in this capacity until his death onDecember 19, 1952.[1] Taylor was succeeded in this position byRobert Taylor.
