Biography

Siplin (b. October 21, 1954) earned his B.A. in political science from Johnson C. Smith University in 1973, his M.A. in Public/International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh in 1977 and his J.D. from Duquesne University in 1988. His professional experience includes working as a Law Clerk for United States District Judge Edward Davis and Assistant Attorney for Miami-Dade County.

On November 4, 2008, Siplin won re-election to the 19th District Seat in theFlorida State Senate, defeating Belinda Ortiz (R). Siplin raised $220,653 for his campaign, while Ortiz raised $293,347.[7]
