Fred Kunzel (1901-1969) was afederal judge on theUnited States District Court for the Southern District of California.

Kunzel was nominated by PresidentDwight Eisenhower on February 16, 1959, to a seat vacated byJacob Weinberger; he was confirmed by the Senate on September 9, 1959, and received his commission onSeptember 10th. From 1967-1969, he served as thechief judge. He served the Southern District of California until his death onNovember 19, 1969. Kunzel was succeeded in this position byHoward Turrentine.
