Sixth Circuit

Hamilton was nominated by PresidentFranklin Delano Roosevelt on February 25, 1938 to replaceCharles Harwood Moorman. He was confirmed by the Senate on March 1st, and received commission onMarch 4th. He served on this court until his death onSeptember 19, 1945.^[1]

Western District of Kentucky

Hamilton was nominated by PresidentFranklin Delano Roosevelt on June 14, 1935 to replaceCharles Dawson. He was confirmed by the Senate on June 18th, and received commission onJune 20th. He served on this court untilApril 1, 1938, when he was appointed to the Sixth Circuit.^[1] Hamilton was succeeded in this position byShackelford Miller.
