Elsijane Roy
Elsijane Trimble Roy (1916-2007) was afederal judge on theEastern andWestern Districts of Arkansas.
Roy was nominated to both courts simultaneously by PresidentJimmy Carter on October 21, 1977, to a seat vacated byOren Harris; she was confirmed by the Senate on November 1, 1977, and received commissionthe next day. She assumedsenior status onJanuary 1, 1989. She continued serving both courts untilDecember 1, 1990, when her seat on the Western District was reassigned. She continued serving the Eastern District until her death onJanuary 23, 2007. Roy was succeeded in this position bySusan Carter.
