Edward Tamm
Edward Allen Tamm (1906-1985) was afederal judge on theUnited States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and theUnited States District Court for the District of Columbia. Tamm died on September 22, 1985.
DC Circuit
Tamm was nominated to the DC Circuit by PresidentLyndon Johnson on March 1, 1965, to a seat vacated byWalter Bastian; he was confirmed by the Senate onMarch 11, 1965, and received commission thatsame day. He served until his death onSeptember 22, 1985.[1]
DC District
Tamm received arecess appointment to the DC District from PresidentHarry Truman on June 22, 1948, to a seat vacated byJames McPherson Proctor; he was nominated on January 13, 1949, confirmed by the Senate on March 29, 1949, and received commission onApril 1. He served the DC District until he was elevated to the DC Circuit onMarch 16, 1965.[1]
