Edward Coke Billings (1829-1893) was afederal judge on theUnited States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

He was nominated by PresidentUlysses Grant on January 10, 1876. He was confirmed by the Senate onFebruary 10, 1876, and received commission that same day. On March 3, 1881, he was reassigned to this court after his nomination to the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit was turned down by the Senate. He served until his death onDecember 1, 1893.[1] Billings was succeeded in this position byCharles Parlange.

Judge Billing graduated from Yale College in 1853.[1]

Professional career

Judge Billings was nominated to theUnited States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit in 1881, but the nomination failed in the Senate.[1]
