Douglas Woodruff Hillman (1922-2007) was afederal judge for theUnited States District Court for the Western District of Michigan.

Hillman was nominated by PresidentJimmy Carter on July 12, 1979, to a new seat created by 92 Stat. 1629; he was confirmed by the Senate on September 25, 1979, and received commissionthe next day. From 1986-1991, he served as thechief judge. He assumedsenior status onFebruary 15, 1991. He served the Western District of Michigan until his retirement onOctober 1, 2002.^[1] Hillman was succeeded in this position byDavid McKeague. Hillman died on February 1st, 2007.
