Donald Pogue was afederal judge for theUnited States Court of International Trade. He first joined the court in 1995 after being nominated by PresidentBill Clinton. He served aschief judge from 2010-2014. Pogue assumedsenior status onJuly 1, 2014, and served as a senior judge until his death on October 26, 2016.[1]

Early life and education

Born in Macomb,Illinois, Pogue graduated from Dartmouth College with his bachelor's degree in 1969 and also received a Master's from Yale University in 1974. Pogue also graduated from [Yale Law School]] hisJ.D. in 1974.[1]

Judicial nominations and appointments

Court of International Trade

Pouge was nominated to theUnited States Court of International Trade by PresidentBill Clinton onJune 30, 1995 to a seat vacated byJames Watson. Pogue was confirmed by the U.S.Senate onAugust 11, 1995 on a Senate voice vote and he received his commission onAugust 14, 1995.[2] Pogue assumedsenior status on July 1, 2014, after 19 years of active service, serving as a senior judge until his death on October 26, 2016.[1]
