Donald Middlebrooks
Donald M. Middlebrooks is anArticle III federal judge for theUnited States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He joined the court in 1997 after being nominated by PresidentBill Clinton. Prior to appointment, Middlebrooks was a private practice attorney in the state of Florida.[1]
Early life and education
A native ofFlorida, Middlebrooks graduated from the University of Florida inGainesville with his bachelor's degree in 1968 and his Juris Doctorate degree in 1972.[1]
Professional career
Middlebrooks spent the majority of his pre-judicial legal career as a Private practice attorney licensed in the State ofFlorida from 1973 to 1974 and 1977 till his appointment to the federal bench in 1997. From 1974 to 1977, Middlebrooks served as Chief Counsel to the Florida Governor's Office.[1]

Southern District of Florida
On the recommendation of U.S. Senator Bob Graham, Middlebrooks was nominated to theUnited States District Court for the Southern District of Florida by PresidentBill Clinton on January 7, 1997 to a seat vacated byJames Kehoe as Kehoe went onsenior status. Middlebrooks was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on May 23, 1997 on a Senate vote and received commission onMay 27, 1997.
