Dominic Squatrito
Dominic J. Squatrito was afederal judge onsenior status with theUnited States District Court for the District of Connecticut. He joined the court in 1994 after being nominated by PresidentBill Clinton. He left office on January 20, 2021, when he died.
Early life and education
A native ofHartford, Connecticut, Squatrito earned his bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University in 1961 and hisLL.B. from Yale Law School in 1965. Squatrito attended the University of Florence, Italy, on a Fulbright scholarship in 1962.[1]

Squatrito was nominated by PresidentBill Clinton onJuly 28, 1994, to a new seat created by 104 Stat. 5089. TheAmerican Bar Association rated SquatritoSubstantial Majority Well Qualified, Minority Qualified for the nomination. Hearings on Squatrito's nomination were held before theSenate Judiciary Committee on September 14, 1994, and his nomination was reported by then-U.S. Sen.Joseph Biden (D-Del.) on September 22, 1994. Squatrito was confirmed on a voice vote of theU.S. Senate on October 7, 1994, and he received his commission the same day. Squatrito elected to takesenior status beginning on November 1, 2004. He was succeeded in this position by JudgeVanessa Bryant.[1][2][3] Squatrito's term as senor judge ended with his death on January 20, 2021.
