Judge Buttram was nominated by PresidentBill Clinton on August 31, 1998, to a seat vacated byRobert Propst. He was confirmed by the Senate on October 8, 1998, and received commission thenext day. He resigned onJune 30, 2002. Buttram was succeeded in this position byScott Coogler.
