Dean Burke (Republican Party) was a member of theGeorgia State Senate, representingDistrict 11. He assumed office on January 14, 2013. He left office on December 30, 2022.

Burke (Republican Party) ran for re-election to theGeorgia State Senate to representDistrict 11. He won in the general election onNovember 8, 2022.

Burke resigned from the state Senate on December 30, 2022, to become chief medical officer at the Georgia Department of Community Health.[1]

The general election was held onNovember 4, 2014. Thesignature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 7, 2014. IncumbentK. Dean Burke was unopposed in the Republican primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[6][7][8]

Burke won election in a special election forGeorgia State Senate District 11. The seat was vacant followingJohn Bulloch's (R) resignation on December 6, 2012. While he did not initially provide a reason, Bulloch had been hospitalized with meningitis the previous October. Bulloch was re-elected on November 6, 2012 unopposed. Burke facedMarshall Berman (R),Brad Hughes (R),Mike Keown (R),Eugene McNease (R) andJeffrey G. Bivins (L) in the special election on January 8, 2013.[9][10][11]As no candidate won more than 51 percent in the election, the top two vote-getters, Burke and Keown, headed to a runoff on February 5, which Burke won.[12][13][14][15]
