Brown defeatedWarren Christopher,Matthew Fogg,Glenn Ivey,Joseline Pena-Melnyk, andTerence Strait in the Democratic primary, while McDermott defeatedRobert Broadus,Rob Buck, andDavid Therrien to win the Republican nomination. The primary elections took place on April 26, 2016.[1][2]
