Cindy K. Jorgenson is afederal judge onsenior status on theUnited States District Court for the District of Arizona. She joined the court in 2002 after being nominated by PresidentGeorge W. Bush.[1] She elected to take senior status beginning April 6, 2018.[2]

Scott Rash was nominated by PresidentDonald Trump (R) to replace Jorgenson on the District of Arizona. He was confirmed in 2020.

Education

Jorgenson graduated from the University of Arizona with her bachelor's degree in 1974 and later graduated from the University of Arizona College of Law with herJ.D. degree in 1977.[1]

Professional career

Jorgenson started her legal career as a deputy county attorney for thePima County Attorney's Office from 1977 to 1986. For the next ten years, she was an Assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Arizona. From 1996 to 2002, Jorgenson was a judge onPima County Superior Court.[1]

On the unanimous recommendation of Arizona U.S. SenatorsJon Kyl andJohn McCain, Jorgenson was nominated by PresidentGeorge W. Bush onSeptember 10, 2001, to a new seat created by 113 Stat. 1501. Martone was confirmed by the Senate onFebruary 26, 2002, on a unopposed 98-0-2 vote and received commission onMarch 6, 2002.[3] She elected to take senior status beginning April 6, 2018.[2]
