Kohlsaat was nominated by PresidentWilliam McKinley on February 23, 1899. He was confirmed by the Senate onFebruary 28, 1899, and received commission that same day. He served on this court untilMarch 24, 1905.[1] Kohlsaat was succeeded in this position bySolomon Hicks Bethea.
