I am an engineer and professor who is passionate about helping people through good representation and advocacy. My educational background is a Masters Degree in Nuclear Engineering and 12 years working as an engineer. For the last 6 years I have been teaching at Palm Beach State College and helping students advance their careers in power technology. I have also been working with our current State Representative to support individual property rights and protect our rural and agricultural communities. It is my firm belief that a State Representative should be a good listener and problem solver. Let me use my experience to serve you as your next champion in Tallahassee.
  • Our district is full of people living their dream of starting their own business and being their own boss. Farms, service providers, and home businesses are our economic strength and I am committed to supporting them. I believe that your Representative should put small businesses first, keep taxes and regulations as low as possible, and always stand up for our individual property rights.
  • Education has always been key to helping people take that next step in their lives. I believe that education, in all forms, should always be a priority. This means that we need to support our local Universities, Colleges, and Technical schools as they provide affordable, accessible education. Additionally, I am committed to supporting our K-12 education system by advancing school choice, focusing on reading and math proficiency, and ensuring all our schools are safe, protected environments for learning.
  • Homeowner's insurance costs have continued to be challenge for all Floridians and I believe there is more progress we can make. I will continue to support our Legislature as they crack down on contractor and insurance fraud. Additionally, I believe that we need to create and industry working group to develop better roof construction techniques. Our focus has long been on protecting our roofs against hurricanes, but we have not focused on reducing the rate of small nuisance leaks that so often lead to 5 digit insurance payouts. I am committed to using my engineering background to lead discussions on best practices for building future roofs in ways that will reduce water intrusion and nuisance leaks.
I am especially connected to education and how it helps our community. My 4 year old is going to start school soon and I am committed to giving her, and all our students (of all ages) the best education possible.
I believe that attention to detail, willingness to work hard, and integrity are the most important characteristics for an elected official.
My experiences as an engineer have prepared me to approach problems analytically. I believe that we need to have strong foundations/evidence for our decisions. Representative Roth mentoring me has also been invaluable in learning how a State Representative can positively impact the lives of Floridians. We have worked on legislation together as well as tried to help residents in discussion with the County Commission. I have committed all this time learning the job before being a candidate and I will work even harder once elected.
To constantly be involved with their district, understand the issues affecting their communities, and work to resolve those issues.
Our current State Constitution strikes a good balance of power. I think the Governor should have a few strategic goals while the State Legislature is concerned with the details of life in Florida.
Our biggest challenges are reducing the cost of home ownership and improving our education and training programs so that our job market can continue growing.
Yes, the State Legislature works as a team. No bill is passed by a single individual and being able to discuss and negotiate is critical.
I have heard from many condo residents on fixed incomes who are struggling with large assessments from the recent requirement to have condos reach 100% reserve requirements. We need to modify the recent law to provide relief for our fixed income residents.
Any emergency powers should be specific and limited. The Legislature must always be able to rescind emergency powers at any time.
I would like to create a working group to study methods of reducing roof leakage and improving roof construction standards.
State House District 94 Incumbent Representative Rick Roth
Agriculture, Conservation, & Resiliency Subcommittee

Postsecondary Education & Workforce Subcommittee

Energy, Communications & Cybersecurity Subcommittee
The government must always be transparent and accountable.
Our State is one of the easiest to get ballot initiatives passed. I do worry that we will end up with a lot of things in our Constitution that really should have been laws. Laws can be amended and improved as we learn over time. Constitutional Amendments are extremely difficult to change.
