I was born and raised in Bountiful, Utah. Utah's values are my values: Supporting families, public education and protecting individual rights. My parents and their examples influenced my attitudes toward education, acceptance and understanding of others, service, and work ethic.
I currently own a small business in Saratoga Springs and will expand to Riverton opening an additional location in 2023. My professional experience in business and tax will lend a voice for our citizens in any tax reform legislation proposed. During my 20+ years in tax, accounting and business management, I've seen first hand and I value how entrepreneurs and small business drive innovation, opportunities and jobs here in Utah.
I've advocated for and supported mental health initiatives including Suicide Awareness and Prevention programs at the local and state level working with Herriman City, non-profits, local schools, the Jordan School District, health providers.
I volunteer for several organizations including the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the Utah Suicide Prevention Coalition, the Utah State Board of Education Instructional Materials Review Committee, Daughters of the American Revolution and Healthy Herriman.- Our Legislature needs to change. From Women's Rights, to LGBTQ rights, and restriction of Free Speech wound into current and proposed legislation, more and more we see intrusion into our personal lives from a Legislature that has no check and balance.
- For more than 22 years our public schools have ranked last. Our children and teachers suffer from lack of proper funding. We need to change this.
- Utah has witnessed extraordinary growth, particularly in and around Riverton, Herriman and Bluffdale. My family is directly impacted by increased housing costs, increasing costs for higher education, traffic congestion, poor air quality and mental health.

My professional experience in business and tax will lend a voice for our citizens in any tax reform legislation proposed. I've seen first hand and I value how entrepreneurs and small business drive innovation, opportunities and jobs here in Utah and I encourage legislation to fund top quality public education for existing residents' children as well as those who are moving to the area.
See my background on Linked in: https://www.linkedin.com/in/catherinevoutaz/- Healthy Living - Addressing health concerns in Utah is of primary importance. Making health care more accessible including reducing the cost of prescription drugs, increasing access to mental health services, expanding suicide prevention and opioid addiction programs, decreasing Youth Vaping, and removing Medicaid enrollment barriers are vital to improving overall health, well-being, and longevity.
- Managing Growth - Our 3.2 million state population is expected to double by 2065. Citizens and local leaders know their communities the best. Growth along the Wastach Front and in Utah County needs to be sensible, fair and practical. Housing and commercial developments should be sustainable including transportation infrastructure, public services including water, sewer, and utilities, public education expansion, and dedicated open green spaces along with financial return.
- Clean Air for Utah - It's no surprise that clean air is the environmental issue on the Wasatch front. We need ongoing realistic plans and policy to reduce overall emissions.

Clean Air - We need ongoing realistic plans and policy to reduce overall emissions.
Public Education - Classrooms should have the best teachers and technology to promote creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, positive mental health and communication.
Affordable Utah - Let's make housing, higher education, and child care affordable for everyone.
Utah should maintain a fiscally responsible state government where tax policies don't burden economically disadvantaged individuals and service based businesses.
