Biographical submission

In response to Ballotpedia's question: "What is your political philosophy?", James gave the following answer:

As a 31 year resident of Hillsborough County, I am committed to the success of our community. School boards, like any other board of directors, need members with varied backgrounds to achieve the axiom that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. With over 30 years of financial accounting and management experience in private, public and nonprofit organizations, I am offering my skill set to the community to enhance the skill set of the current members.

As the mother of a junior at Middleton High School, the pre-collegiate STEM academy in Hillsborough County, I have been active at the classroom level having participated in Great American Teach In for the past 5 years, at the school level as a member and officer of my son’s middle and high school PTSA organizations, at the district level as a member and vice chair of the Hillsborough School Board Citizen Advisory Committee and at the state legislature advocating for children's issues for the past 15 years.[5]
