Woerner's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Agriculture

  • Supporting the development and expansion of technologies, like Controlled Environment Agriculture that can help expand the growing season, is a key focus for Carrie. She meets regularly with farmers and with researchers from New York’s Ag schools to keep up-to-date on the issues and opportunities.

Education

  • I regularly meet with groups of students and teachers to ensure that I understand what the effects of state policy are on what is happening in the classroom. From the kindergarten classrooms to the halls of the high schools, I have seen and heard that our kids are actively engaged in learning at a level that will prepare them for a bright future. The Early College High School programs available in our region are providing unprecedented opportunities for our young people to build the professional skills that will launch them into a future career. And the colleges and employers are eager to admit/hire them. We still have work to do on improving the testing regimen that is used to assess progress, and we will still need to work on creating multiple pathways to graduation, including Career and Technical Education pathways alongside the Regents diploma pathway. I will continue to advocate for these changes and to work with our representative on the Board of Regents to make them happen.[11]
—Carrie Woerner[12]

2014

Woerner's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[13]

My top priorities are:

  • Excerpt: "Steward the investments made to bring high tech manufacturing to our region"
  • Excerpt: "Foster entrepreneurship to grow businesses that create careers and jobs in Saratoga and Washington Counties"
  • Excerpt: "Encourage responsible development to protect the agricultural and open lands"

Scorecards

Ascorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
