Carolyn Dimmick
Carolyn R. Dimmick is afederal judge onsenior status with theUnited States District Court for the Western District of Washington. She joined the court in 1985 after being nominated by PresidentRonald Reagan.
Early life and education
ASeattle, Washington native, Dimmick graduated from the University of Washington with her bachelor's degree in 1951 and from the University of Washington School of Law with herJ.D. in 1953.[1]

Dimmick was nominated by PresidentRonald Reagan on March 7, 1985, to a new seat created by 98 Stat. 333. Hearings on Dimmick's nomination were held before theSenate Judiciary Committee on March 20, 1985, and her nomination was reported by U.S. Sen. Strom Thurmond (R-S.C.) on April 3, 1985. Dimmick was confirmed on a voice vote of theU.S. Senate on April 3, 1985, and she received her commission the next day. From 1994 to 1997, Dimmick served aschief judge of the district court. Dimmick elected to takesenior status beginning on November 1, 1997. She was succeeded in this position by JudgeRobert Lasnik.[1][2]
