Bushrod Washington was an Associate Justice on theSupreme Court of the United States. He joined the court in 1798 after a nomination from PresidentJohn Adams. Prior to joining the court, Washington was an attorney in private practice. He served until his death onNovember 26, 1829.[1]

Washington was one of three justices nominated to the court by PresidentJohn Adams. He served duringEllsworth andMarshall Courts.

Washington was a nephew of PresidentGeorge Washington.[2]

Education

Washington received an A.B. degree from the College of William and Mary in 1778. He received his legal educationreading law in 1784.[1]
