Brian Maienschein
Brian Maienschein (Democratic Party) was a member of theCalifornia State Assembly, representingDistrict 76. He assumed office on December 5, 2022. He left office on December 2, 2024.
Maienschein ran for election forSan Diego City Attorney in California. He lost in the general election onNovember 5, 2024.
Maienschein switched his party affiliation fromRepublican toDemocrat on January 24, 2019. He said, "Donald Trump has led the Republican Party to the extreme on issues that divide our country. But his leadership is not the only reason for my change in party affiliation. I, too, have changed."[1]
Biography
Maienschein graduated from Poway High School. He earned a B.A. in communications from the University of California-Santa Barbara and aJ.D. from California Western School of Law. His career experience includes working as the homeless commissioner for United Way of San Diego. He served two terms on the San Diego City Council.[2][3]
