Biography
Ellison was the principal of Pelzer Elementary and Cedar Grove Elementary schools until she retired after 37 years in education. Prior that that, she worked as a teacher. Ellison earned her master's from Clemson University, her B.S. from the University of South Carolina, and her associate's of art degree from Anderson University.[1]

Three of the seven seats on theAnderson School District One school board were up for general election onNovember 8, 2016. Area 2 incumbentMike Wilson and Area 6 incumbentBrenda Ellison filed for an additional term, and both were unopposed in their bids for re-election. They both won additional terms on the board. The Area 3 incumbent,Moochie Merritt, and newcomerJohn Neel IV vied for the seat. Moochie Merritt won the seat. There was no primary.[2][3]
