Bobby Baldock
Bobby Baldock is afederal judge onsenior status with theUnited States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. He joined the court in 1985 after being nominated by PresidentRonald Reagan. Prior to his service on the 10th Circuit, he was a district judge on theUnited States District Court for the District of New Mexico. He served on the district court from June 7, 1983, until his resignation on January 24, 1986.[1]
Early life and education
A native of Rocky,Oklahoma, Baldock graduated from New Mexico Military Institute in 1956 and from the University of Arizona College of Law with hisJ.D. in 1960.[1]
Military career
Baldock served in the adjutant general staff of the New Mexico National Guard from 1960 to 1970, attaining the rank of captain.[1]

Baldock was nominated byRonald Reagan on October 7, 1985, to a seat vacated by JudgeOliver Seth as Seth assumedsenior status. Hearings on Baldock's nomination were held before theUnited States Senate Committee on the Judiciary on October 30, 1985, and his nomination was reported by U.S. Sen. Strom Thurmond (R-S.C.) on November 14, 1985. Baldock was confirmed on a voice vote of theU.S. Senate on December 16, 1985, and he received his commission the next day. Baldock assumedsenior status on January 26, 2001.[1][2] He was succeeded in this position by JudgeHarris Hartz.
District of New Mexico
Baldock was nominated byRonald Reagan on May 2, 1983, to a seat on theUnited States District Court for the District of New Mexico vacated by JudgeEdwin Mechem as Mechem assumedsenior status. Hearings on Baldock's nomination were held before theSenate Judiciary Committee on May 18, 1983, and his nomination was reported by Sen. Thurmond on May 26, 1983. Baldock was confirmed on a voice vote of the U.S. Senate on June 6, 1983, and he received his commission onJune 7, 1983. Baldock resigned from the district court onJanuary 24, 1986, upon his elevation to theTenth Circuit Court of Appeals.[1][3] Baldock was succeeded in this position by JudgeJohn Conway.
