Bob Young was born inAkron, Ohio.[2] Young's career experience includes working as a realtor and owning a business.[3][4]

Young announced on September 8, 2023, that he would resign from theOhio House of Representatives after Ohio GovernorMike DeWine (R) and members from both parties of the state House called for his resignation.[5]On Wednesday, August 30, 2023, Young pleaded not guilty to three charges of domestic violence, assault and violation of a protection order.[6]On July 7, 2023, Young was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic violence and one count of disrupting public services.[7] During his court appearance on July 8, Young was issued a $5,000 bond and given an order of no contact with the alleged victim.[8]
